As the global workforce ages, understanding the implications of career plateauing among older employees becomes increasingly crucial for organizational performance. This research investigates the antecedents and consequences of career plateauing, emphasizing its impact on organizational outcomes. The study synthesizes existing literature on career plateauing, organizational support, and job satisfaction, and integrates recent findings to provide a comprehensive analysis of how aging affects career trajectories and performance. Key antecedents of career plateauing identified include perceived organizational support, career development opportunities, and individual differences such as self-efficacy and career expectations. The consequences explored include reduced job satisfaction, diminished career commitment, and increased turnover intention. Recent studies are incorporated to highlight evolving trends and new insights into how organizations can manage and mitigate the effects of career plateauing.
