Abstract

Family Courts in India, established under the *Family Courts Act, 1984*, were designed to address matrimonial and family disputes with sensitivity, conciliation, and efficiency. This paper delves into the functioning and duties of these courts, focusing on key areas such as maintenance, divorce, child custody, and property disputes. By analyzing landmark judgments, it highlights the critical role of Family Courts in upholding social justice, especially for vulnerable groups like women and children.
