Abstract

Food traceability is critical in ensuring the safety, quality, and authenticity of food products. With the globalization of food supply chains, challenges such as fraud, contamination, and inefficiencies have escalated. Blockchain technology offers transformative potential in addressing these challenges by providing a transparent, immutable, and decentralized platform for tracking and tracing food products from farm to fork. This paper presents a descriptive study on the role of blockchain in food traceability, exploring its implementation, benefits, challenges, and future prospects. The study highlights how blockchain enhances trust among stakeholders, ensures regulatory compliance, and empowers consumers with accurate information.
