Abstract

This review explores India's socio-political landscape as depicted in the novels of Aravind Adiga, offering a critical analysis of his portrayal of contemporary Indian society. Adiga’s works, notably The White Tiger and Last Man in Tower, provide a nuanced lens through which to examine the complexities of social stratification, economic disparity, and political corruption in modern India. By focusing on marginalized characters and their struggles against systemic injustices, Adiga's narratives highlight the stark contrasts between India's economic boom and its persistent socio-economic challenges. This review synthesizes the themes of class conflict, corruption, and the quest for personal and social justice as presented in Adiga's fiction. Through a detailed examination of his novels, the review aims to elucidate how Adiga’s storytelling reflects and critiques the broader socio-political dynamics of India, contributing to a deeper understanding of the nation's current socio-political climate.
