Abstract

The theoretical study of magnetic field effect on secant curved circular annular plates with couple-stress fluid is presented in this study. Gap between the plates is filled with conducting non-Newtonian fluid having film thickness. The modified Reynolds equation is derived from the stoke theory the closed form of solution is obtained for pressure, load carrying capacity and squeezing time to study the influence of transverse magnetic field and couple stress lubricant on secant curved circular annular plates. The Non-dimensional pressure, load and squeeze time is obtained analytically and presented graphically. The results revealed that the use of magnetic field and couple stress lubricants show the significant increase in the pressure, load carrying capacity and squeeze time as compared to the non-magnetic and Newtonian case.
