This study focusses into the culinary odyssey of Faizi, a character whose transformation from an ambitious chef with big dreams to a crucial figure at Ustad Hotel provides perceptions into Kerala culture, familial expectations, and individual goals. Against the desires of his father, Faizi , the Central character in the Malayalam movie Ustad Hotel sets out on his road to become a chef.He begins his in Switzerland, where he trains covertly to become a chef, and ends with a momentousreturn to his family's restaurant in Kozhikode. The research compares and contrasts Faizi's humble upbringing with his eventual encounter with the luxurious world of fine dining, symbolised by the five-star Beach Bay hotel, which is located nearby. Based on Faizi's experiences, the research explores topics of transformational potential of culinary arts, resistance, and personal growth. It draws attention to how Faizi overcomes obstacles in his quest for mastery to revitalise the Ustad Hotel and demonstrates how his work engages with larger culturaland social contexts. In contrast to the status-driven excesses of high-end businesses, the narrative highlights thegenuineness and simplicity of local culinary traditions.
