Abstract

In this study, the role and aspect related with integrated farming system were investigated as a potential option for increasing farmer income and ensuring their long term survival in the district of Kanpur, under block Chaubepur and Shivrajpur. The influence of various combinations of operations, such as dairy, poultry, and fishing, with crop and dairy as basis enterprises, on farmer’s overall income has been studied. The financial benefit of implementing various enterprise combinations studied, spanning from FS I to FS III, is estimated to be between 347876.15 and 1095981.15. The benefit cost ratios for FS I, FSII, and FSIII are 1.28, 2.08, and 2.28, respectively. According to the Benefit Cost Ratio, FSIII (Crop+ Dairy+ Poultry+ Fisheries) is the best venture for doubling farmers' income. Farmers may double their revenue in a few years by including dairy, poultry, and fisheries into their farming systems, as well as reaping the social and environmental benefits that come with it. Integrated agricultural systems are diversified in nature, allowing for greater use of farm resources, reduced farm risk, and increased cash flow.
