Abstract

S. L. Bhyrappa is one of the greatest contemporary Kannada writers. His novel Parva is a demythologized version of the Mahabharata, the great Indian epic. The present paper attempts to study Bhyrappa’s scrutiny of the Mahabharata from the point of view of a modern mind and its retelling as a historical event.
