Development of Information Technology in College Libraries: A Study

Abstract

The library has an important place in education and is called the heart of higher education. The work of exchanging knowledge is continuously done through the library. Information technology is being used and academic libraries have made great progress and its impact is visible in higher education today. In this article, the nature of information, its increasing impact on information technology, the progress in telecommunications along with information technology and its background are explained. In addition, the revolution brought about by information technology in college libraries, the adoption of databases and digital tables, the impact on information services, and the explanation of information sources and services are also explained.
