Abstract

Gerbera jamesonii, commonly known as Gerbera daisies, is one of the most popular cut flowers globally due to its vibrant colors, long vase life, and versatility in floral arrangements.Gerbera daisies are usually grown in polyhouses with controlled conditions, which makes their cultivation cost higher than that of other commercial cut flowers. The production is highly dependent on theuse of inorganic fertilizers and commercially available synthetic plant growth promoters. The rising prices of inorganic fertilizers, coupled with stagnant market prices for flowers, have created challenges for farmers.
