ECO-CRITICISM: ITS KEY COMPONENTS AND MANPRASAD SUBBA’S POEM "RUKH"
Abstract
This paper explores the principles of eco-criticism, highlighting its key components such as Deep Ecology and Eco-feminism, and their relevance to literature and environmental consciousness. The study also delves into the ecological perspectives present in Manprasad Subba's poem Rukh (Tree), emphasizing its alignment with environmental philosophy. The poem portrays the tree as an altruistic and integral element of the natural world, reflecting on the interconnectedness between humans and the non- human world. Subba's work critiques human exploitation of nature and underscores the importance of restoring balance and harmony. Through a detailed analysis, the paper demonstrates how eco-criticism bridges the gap between literary expression and environmental ethics.
