Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, big data, and cloud computing has significantly transformed the global workforce landscape. Organizations are facing unprecedented challenges in adapting to digital disruption while maintaining competitiveness. This study examines the importance and effectiveness of upskilling and reskilling strategies in addressing skill gaps and enhancing employee adaptability. Upskilling refers to enhancing employees’ existing competencies, while reskilling involves training employees for entirely new roles in response to technological changes. A quantitative research design was adopted, and primary data were collected from 150 employees across IT, manufacturing, banking, and service sectors using structured questionnaires. Statistical tools such as percentage analysis, correlation, and regression were used to evaluate the relationship between digital training initiatives and workforce adaptability. Findings indicate a strong positive relationship between structured upskilling and reskilling programs and employee performance, job security perception, and organizational sustainability. The study concludes that proactive workforce development strategies are essential for organizational resilience in the era of digital disruption. Organizations must invest in continuous learning cultures, technology-driven training platforms, and leadership support to bridge skill gaps and ensure long-term success.
