Abstract

Abstract: The traditional approach to nutritional labeling, often criticized for its complexity and lack of engagement, has limited effectiveness in promoting informed consumer choices. This paper explores the integration of augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) in developing smart nutrition labels that enhance consumer awareness and decision-making. AR transforms static labels into interactive, immersive experiences, providing real-time, easily understandable nutritional information through visual cues and personalized insights. AI further enhances this by tailoring nutritional data to individual dietary preferences and health goals, offering predictive analytics and learning from user interactions to refine its recommendations. The implementation of smart nutrition labels holds significant potential for improving public health by encouraging healthier eating habits, increasing demand for nutritious products, and promoting transparency in the food industry. Challenges such as ensuring equitable access to technology, addressing privacy concerns, and establishing industry-wide standards must be addressed. As AR and AI technologies continue to advance, smart nutrition labels could revolutionize consumer behavior, contributing to better health outcomes and a more informed society. This research highlights the transformative potential of these technologies in reshaping the landscape of nutritional information.
