Abstract

An initial public offering (IPO) is the process by which a private company becomes public by selling its stock to the general public.It could be a new, young or elderly company that decides to list on an exchange and so goes public.Investing in an IPO is a dangerous business because there is very little historical data available for analyzing the equities, making it difficult to forecast how the stock will perform on the day of listing as well as in the long run.As a result of our findings, an attempt has been made to assist the investor class in projecting the likelihood of an investor making money in an IPO issue. The study investigates the performance of Indian IPOs, focusing on predicting future prices of selected Indian IPOs listed on the NSE.
