Abstract

The purpose of the article is to determine the mockery of religious aspects, especially in churches of contemporary times. The poetry is the comparison amidst the church and the hippopotamus and both of them are cumbersome, however, in different ways. Hippopotamus is literally heavy and the church is theologically weighty. The author has acquired the motivation of writing the article by looking somewhat different in the writing of TS Eliot. Eliot has made the comparison of the Church with a heavy animal as the first is corrupt and later is innocent. This unique comparison has motivated the author to conduct this study and to find the issues within religious institutes of modern times
