POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME RESEARCH IN THE BRICS NATIONS: A SCIENTOMETRIC ANALYSIS

Abstract

The current study endeavor seeks to elucidate research output of BRICS Countries pertaining to polycystic ovary syndrome, achieved through a meticulous examination of the literature published over a span of 20 years. To execute this comprehensive analysis, pertinent data was extracted from the Web of Science core from the years 2002 to 2021. Employing rigorous Scientometric methodologies 4511 research Papers of BRICS countries has undergone an incisive assessment, encompassing diverse aspects such as publication categorization, eminent authors, BRICS Countries output, eminent scholarly Journals, institutional output and the frequency of pivotal keywords. Within this expansive corpus of scholarly output, a substantial 4511 documents, 95.9% of documents are published in the English language. The eminent Journal “Gynecological Endocrinology” stands as the forerunner with a remarkable 239 articles;"Fertility and Sterility" with 214 articles .In terms of BRICS Countries, it is discerned that the peoples R China is the top country yielding maximum number of (70.58%) publications and followed by India with (14.03%) publications. In summation, this investigation, methodologically underpinned by robust bibliometric techniques, contributes both substantively and complementarily to the extant corpus of empirical PCOS literature. Moreover, it offers invaluable insights into the evolutionary trajectory of PCOS research in BRICS Countries over the last two decades.
