Abstract

In recent years, intermittent fasting (IF) has gained global recognition as an effective strategy for managing lifestyle diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Alongside IF, practices like cardiac-coordinated breathing have also gained traction for their health benefits, yet both concepts have deep roots in the ancient Bharatiya Sanatana tradition, where they have been embodied in the forms of vrata (fasting) and pranayama (regulated breathing).
